ACROSS THE LAKE FOR SUPPLIES

Jan 30. We went across the lake for supplies. SEEMED logical to do while outside running anyway and save gas money. Store had a NO DOGS ALLOWED sign. Turned out it would have been cheaper to drive to Walmart. But it was good exercise and I shed my choker collar (hid it and almost got away with it but it was recovered on the trip back across). Distance covered today 10km.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Jan 29 A quick 5 km on the road and I was all muddy again. No SPA DAY, just unceremoniously swished around in the tub, sheesh!

WE HAD A BLIZZARD TODAY

Jan 28 So we did our 5km today on the ice road on the Lake.

SPA DAY WAS WONDERFUL!!!

Jan 27 Everyone NEEDS to go to the SPA from time to time. Especially a working dog like me. I was brushed out and my hair thinned a bit then a wonderful massage and a hair treatment. Then a bubble bath soak (that was new). Next was a blow-dry and comb-out but no trim 'cause I'm trying something different and letting my hair grow out a bit. Then there was a bit of lunch while I had my nails trimmed and French Polished. I tried a new cologne that has a cedar woodsy scent. I didn't go along on the 5km run so Kayak got a turn, besides I just had a Mani-pedi and the polish might have gotten smudged!

While I was soaking I heard about a Yoga class that sounds good and hope we sign up. As a trainer I'm always looking for more ways to stretch. The Downward Facing Dog part sounds especially interesting.

TOMORROW IS SPA DAY

Jan 26 Tomorrow is a very important day for me (us really), I get my hair done. I was left alone with a credit card the first time I went there, and IT WAS HEAVENLY!

It didn't start out that way though. I was given a home tubby, and a rinse off with the garden hose no less. In retaliation I went for another swim in the Lake and then had a nice roll in something wonderful that was for the compost. I thought I had done a nice job with my hair with a few burrs for accent but I guess I had gone too far. I was hosed off again and then off to the THE SPA. What I didn't know was we were running in a 5K and others might not have liked how I looked or smelled, as I was scolded, "Smelled like a Manure Pile". I guess that isn't as nice as I thought at the time.

Anyway that first time at THE SPA as I said was HEAVENLY. I was given a massage, while my hair was having a pretreatment, my choice of shampoo (the one that detangled), a nice rinse and lightener (no foils). Then a blow-dry, a trim and because of the burrs, a Brazilian. I also had my nails (clear polish that time) done, and teeth. Then a light lunch. After that a brush out, a fluff up, another relaxing massage, and why not a dog only lives once (not like a cat). Then my hair was styled and because (they said it) I am so special, I got ribbons in my hair AND a bandana for my neck.

As I said HEAVENLY, I wasn't given the credit card after that. But still when I go to the spa everyone knows me by name as soon as I come through the door, even if it is just to pick up food or treats or something for my cats. I try to need grooming as much as possible. This is not hard for a smart Collie like me! Today even though it is winter, I was lucky to find enough to roll in for a SPA DAY!

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE OKANAGAN

Jan 26  Sooo.... we're off to a new adventure.  Two more geocaches found and 5km roadwork.  It was a beautiful sunny morning above freezing (barely) but I didn't have as much trouble with snowballs stuck in my paws.  A guy was ice-fishing right in front of my house for a while but I wasn't allowed to investigate "Cause you might Hoover up his fish and that is a Vet Bill for sure".  I hate our Vet since the last time I had to stay overnight there and he said I was lactose intolerant (no more ice-cream for me).  I can't help it if I feel Pain much more deeply than others, sheeesh!

NOW THAT WAS FUN

Jan 25    We went across the lake and walked to town, checked out 6 geocaches on the way and then back over the ice.  And I was almost run over by a parasailor!  The distance we did today was 18km, not so bad.

WALKING!!!!!!

A good day for A WALK!!!!

So.. we followed our GPS app. and walked across the lake to discover another geocache (in a cave).  I sensed a presence nearby so I growled and kept it up until we were 1/2 way back to the lake shore.  This trip was Very Exciting though.  I should be in security!  With my help (as usual) we made it off the lake and back home safely.  Our walk was 8km.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER RUN, YAY!!!

Jan 21 -went for another run today, 5k. We were trying out a Navigating app. on the iPhone and then the phone got too cold, and shut down.  But we DO know we are definitely going 5k and how fast? NOT VERY!

FINALLY A RUN!!!!!

Jan 20, 2012 was only -12C so... we actually went for a run.  Kayak stayed home 'cause he doesn't run much anymore.  But the only down side to running when there are snowbanks on the side of the road is, every car coming our way means diving into the snowbank until the car passes.  So we did 5km of... running and then diving into a snowbank, then running...you get the picture.  Still fun!!!!!

FROZE MY TOOTZIES 1/2 OFF & GEOCACHING

Finally the powers that be decided to brave the frozen North and go for a run and then we looked for a geocache (Kayak and I were positive that meant look for a mouse but we were wrong). WE found a fat mouse, SHE found a camouflaged tube. We all enjoyed ourselves as you might realize that there is little fun inside for us with an exercise bike.  Lots of stopping both ways today to chew snowballs out of paws...but still worth it to get out of the house.

TOO COLD

Another day of back and forth to the woodshed, putting out food for the birds, -23c and wind from the north and MORE SNOW.  Mommy is using her Nordictrak...so no roadrunning today, ugh

BITTER COLD

-15c wicked north wind but so SUNNY. Looks like our walk today consisted of back and forth to the woodshed. UGH!

SNOW , snow, Snow

Anybody have some ideas on how my human can run on ice and snow?  She runs everyday but she is slowing down and this business of not being able to go along when it is icy sucks!  This is getting boring.  I think some retaliation is called for.  Perhaps some detailing on those new runners.

I DIDN'T GET TO GO FOR A WALK TODAY, just Kayak (I was told I pull too hard and that's too dangerous on the icy road).  I JUST WANT TO RUN and I don't care if there are cars.

Roadrunning, we're in the middle of a BLIZZARD It would be kind of rude to drivers to have to dodge dogs and people today. So ...today we're going to go for a nice run on the lake, yippee!

Mommy, Kayak and I ran in the dark tonight! We all had lights on. It wasn't cold to me.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION STILL ON TRACK

We Actually WALK EVERY DAY! Sometimes on the lake, sometimes along the road. And we have started the walk to one power pole, run to one power pole. Life is good!
